- According to the Fallout 3 (2008) wiki, your in-game father (‘James') is 51 years old. Fallout 4 (2015) occurs exactly a decade after Fallout 3 (2008) so that makes him 61 years old. Shaun sure looks 61. Y ou might be rightly thinking that Shaun and James clearly have different names.
- Mod adds weapons from Vegas. All weapons have their unique sounds. Reload animations are 'fitted' under Fallout 4. Retained all original modifications and added some new one. All weapons can find as any other weapon, buy, find on enemies and etc.
- New vegas had much more weapon choice than fallout 4. I really hate this and hope a future dlc adds much more. The crafting doesn't make up for it either as you only have 2-3 options for melee mods and the bottom option of gun crafting is usually the strongest so all guns end up the same. Here is a comparison of the amount of weapons in both games.

double action or single action?
It says this is a double action. I thought this gun was a single action pistol. I can't remember exactly but doesn't courier pull the hammer back manually after each shot? Zac hemker 15:16, May 28, 2011 (UTC)
This is done with most revolvers in the game. A double action revolver can be cocked like a single action revolver before firing or by pulling the trigger. Cocking the hammer reduces how much you have to pull the trigger before firing.
I understand that, but how is it used in the game? And if the courier does cock the hammer after each shot, how do we know that it's a double action at all? Zac hemker 01:37, June 2, 2011 (UTC)
Never does the Courier's hand go anywhere near the hammer. It's double action.--With care and happiness, Supermutantslayer450'YOU. LOSE. 21:07, June 5, 2011 (UTC)
Wrong Sound Effect?
The sound effect the Ranger Sequoia makes is that of the .44 Magnum, isn't it supposed to sound like the Hunting Revolver!?38.120.11.197 20:33, June 24, 2011 (UTC)
Good point. I could tell you how to fix this in the GECK it would be really easy. an0my(talk) 19:17, September 26, 2011 (UTC)
Bug?
whenever i take the Ranger off of the chief Hanlon at Camp Golf.i will lose karma every time i pick it up and drop it.is it a bug?,or is it supposed to do that? Elite 20:15, July 30, 2011 (UTC)
You're stealing therefore you lose karma. an0my(talk) 19:16, September 26, 2011 (UTC)
Yeah its a bug, you could try to sell it then buy it back that should fix it, if not than i have no other ideas--Chargersphinx 01:55, September 29, 2011 (UTC)
Sequoia?
Like it says in the 'Behind the Scenes' log, it says Sequoia is known as the california redwood tree. Could the NCR(who happen to be based out of Cali) have used surviving redwoods for the grip? Sounds reasonable to me. --Tactical Gamer 04:36, August 6, 2011 (UTC)
It's probably just a reference to california where they originated i doubt there are any surviving sequoia trees--Chargersphinx 01:57, September 29, 2011 (UTC) Iu22 user manual.
Maximum Damage Potential
With Cowboy, The Professional, Better Criticals, Hand Loader SWCs and Hollow Points. It will do 90 damage per hit and a total of 195(390 sneak attack) critical damage while ignoring 6 DT. 129 Damage and 229(458 sneak attack) critical damage with Hollow Points, while increasing DT by 3x. an0my(talk) 19:19, September 26, 2011 (UTC)
Very Competitive with the Brush Gun
Pros: Highly accurate (0.01 spread vs Brush Gun's 0.06,) Higher Crit Multiplier (x1 vs x1.5) an0my(talk) 19:19, September 26, 2011 (UTC)
- Uhh, no. The brush gun has 0.01 spread; the sequoia has 0.6 spread, making it somewhat uncompetitive against the brush gun. It also has more ammo per full mag, so it cn do more overall damage. --Bottletopman 11:08, October 8, 2011 (UTC)
- The Ranger Sequoia only win against Brush Gun in one category; it can be fully reloaded in 3s while the Brush Gun must be reloaded round by round. However, the Brush Gun (not counting the Medicine Stick which is even better) wins in everything else. Flaktrooper, October 27, 2011.
Durability
I think it should be pointed out that the durability on the Ranger Sequoia is much lower than the Hunting Revolver, since it seems this is part of the reason why it is so much less valuable. Using things like built to destroy and custom ammo exacerbates the problem cartoonishly, so this makes it something as significant as the value or damage when taking the merits of this gun into consideration. (I'm doing a revolvers only run through and the Sequoia was the only weapon I brought with me into Zion Canyon. The frequency which with it had to be maintained for optimum performance was a bit exasperating.)
real world variant?
anyone know what gun this was based on? i added an image but someone removed it without good reasoning.--God weapon weilder 02:42, November 16, 2011 (UTC)
- Without good reasoning? Because there totally aren't several editor's notes on the page specifically saying that Magnum Research BFR references will be removed. Feel free to brush up on the site policies before trying to talk about reasoning. Message 02:44, November 16, 2011 (UTC)

Mods
Does anyone know what the mods for this gun are? So far, I've gotten a Forged Receiver that increases its condition. I remember from somewhere that there are other mods..
forged receiver is the only mod
Sometime I wish it had a scoped mod or some sort for better aiming, but then I realize it would lose its wild west feel with it.--Felix Brehh 01:11, September 6, 2011 (UTC)
Brush?
why is this a brush gun? what does it have to do with scrubs and the like?Maybe it was used as a hunting rifle before the war?
It's modeled after a Marlin 1895. It's the sort of thing that people bring out into the woods in Alaska in case of grizzly bears.
- It's called the brush gun because one of the primary selling points of the Marlin 1895 .45-70 'Guide Gun' is that it has a heavy, slow bullet that punches through thick underbrush very well. Lighter, faster bullets tend to get deflected easier, so if you have to shoot something (like a bear) in heavy undergrowth, it has a real advantage.
Freeze
Has anyone encountered this issue when using the Brush Gun? A LOT of the time, when I'm done reloading, it just freezes for a bit. I can't shoot, I can't open my inventory, I can't enter VATS. Unbelievably annoying and very fatal at times, especially when I'm up against multiple Deathclaws.
Yup, also happens with the other weapons that require you to load each round individually (Hunting Shotgun, .357 Magnum Revolver, etc).
There is a workaround to unfreeze yourself - after the reload animation stops (and you're 'frozen') hit the fire button once. Nothing visible happens but you should now be able to operate the gun as usual. Works for me anyway (PC).
There is actually a way around this. Even after the latest update it still freezes, to stop this from happening do not move when loading the final round into the gun. This applies to most other guns that reload each shot individually. ~Tomo Stryker
Removed comment in bugs section
I removed the following comment from the bugs section:
'Xbox 360 For some unknown reason having the Brush Gun with the Brush Gun Forged Receiver equipped, makes that picking another ammo type or even empty hulls to replenish the hard-to-find .45-70 Gov't ammo (still confirming which is the exact case).'
This comment makes no sense or is incomplete. What is he/she trying to say? Do they mean switching ammo types, like from standard to hollow point, presents a problem? The part about the empty hulls is again confusing. Is he/she not retaining any of his spent cases when using the weapon?
Fallout 4 All Guns
Either way I tested both out on the xbox and neither seem to be an issue. Also if he/she is still confirming what the problem is it shouldn't be on the main page.

Also, I edited the section on the bug with using weapons repair kits, it only affects the modded version. I confirmed this on two separate unmodded brush guns with xbox360. If anyone wants to confirm that with the PC they can. I think it has to do with the forged receiver increasing the guns condition by 50%, if you continue to use weapons repair kits on the gun it will take it down to its 50% condition then stop decreasing it. Still bugs with the forged receiver?
The readme of third update for New Vegas mentions it fixed the forged receiver bug when getting repairs from -vendors-. Is the bug still there for weapon repair kits after installing the third update?
Reply: Still there on PC as of 22Dec10, so alternate repair options need to be used. The receiver is still a useful mod when running SWC hand loads through the weapon. 71.62.29.209 14:09, December 22, 2010 (UTC)
- In my opinion this weapon is best used with a non-sneak build, because she's fairly powerfull and has a low crit chance, so pick the jury-rigging + pack rat perks and carry 5 BB guns with you, they only weigh 1.00 lbs. Brfritos 21:47, January 12, 2011 (UTC)
I don't know what the readme is talking about, it was never bugged when getting it fixed by NPC's, but yes the forged receiver is still bugged with weapons repair kits. Honestly the forged receiver is of no value until they fix the bug. All it does is make the weapon last longer, but having to repair it with other brush guns or with NPC's is VERY expensive. You're better off not using the receiver and using weapons repair kits more often.
As far as the Jury rigging perk, that's become a pointless perk from a weapons standpoint if you have Dead Money installed, just go to the BOS bunker every 3 days and you can get 55 weapons repair kits, more than enough to repair all your weapons 10 times over.
I don't know why everyone thinks the Anti-material rifle is the gun to have, this weapon, when combined with the cowboy perk and hollow point ammo is the most powerful projectile weapon in the game. ReapTheChaos 08:02, January 18, 2011 (UTC)
- A hollow point bullet against a deathclaw? I've found armor piercing with the anti-material rifle to be a godsend against them. --Distracted Ghost 18:10, February 5, 2011 (UTC)
- This weapon + the cowboy perk shred deathclaws like leafs with any type of ammo, pretty much like the Laser RCW do with cazadors using the humble normal EC packs. I still don't understand all the bandawagon about the AMR against deathclaws, there's better weapons in the game. Brush Gun are more class specific, if you don't take the cowboy perk for using this gun there's also better options in the game. Brfritos 20:06, February 7, 2011 (UTC)
SWC loads are the best ammo, and also the brush gun can shoot 3 bullets for ever one the AMR can, so its so much better, it only does a little less damage also
Only up to and including 13 DT?
Normal ammo with a brush gun at full repair does 75 damage yes? And HP ammo multiples the damage by 1.75, meaning HP ammo with a non-critical shot does 131.25 damage. That means 56.25 more damage. Divide that by 3 and you get 18.75, the DT at which the HP ammo and normal ammo will do the same amount of damage. Since I can't think of anything that has fractional DT, that means that the HP ammo is actually better against anything up to 18 DT, instead of 13.
Also, unless the damage multiplier is applied after the critical damage is taken into account, then it will still be better at 18 DT, HP ammo crit vs normal ammo crit, same with the better criticals. If the HP damage is taken into account after the crit is added, then the HP ammo is better at up to a staggering 37 DT, with better criticals it's up to 46 DT.
I could be wrong with any or all of this, but I'm fairly certain that it's actually better at up to 18 DT instead of 13.
Edit: Checking on my graphing calculator, using y1=75-x and y2=131.25-3x, it says that the damage is the same at 28.125 DT.--173.15.75.89 18:02, February 24, 2011 (UTC)
Fallout 4 Brush Gun
Quick reload bug.
I used this bug on a brush gun, a trail carbine and a hunting shotgun. This was done on a PS3, and the game was fully updated. What you do is you fire until empty, and then switch ammo types, and all of a sudden you have a fully loaded weapon. I fired the brush gun 6 times, then pressed the 'change ammo type' weapon twice (One to change it to HP, once again to change it to normal) as I was reloading the first shell, the 1/6 became 6/6, I worked the lever, and i was ready to fire another 6 shots. It was very quick. Quicker than switching to another weapon then switching back or manualy reloading. The same amount of time it takes to load one shell and work the lever. I fired a trail carbine 8 times then pressed the 'change ammo type' button 4 times (To revolve through the ammo types until I returned to normal ammunition) and the same thing happened. I loaded one shell, worked the lever, and I was ready to fire another 8 shots without having to reload again. Same thing worked with the hunting shotgun, except I used slugs, and I worked the pump and not a lever.
This should work for you guys, it worked for me, so now with this lovely glitch, all weapons that require you to reload each cartridge or shell individually have become far more deadly. Perhaps the Dinner Bell has exceeded the Riot Shotgun :)

Weapon Repair Kit Bug
I've used this gun with the forged reciver for quite a long time with SWC rounds, and it doesn't seem to degrade at all. I tested somthing with another brush gun with the mod, then used a weapon repair kit, the thing won't degrade at all.Basically, when you put the forged reciver on and use the weapon repair kit, it will not degrade(Tested on PS3, with the current patch, which is 1.5, 5/27/11)
not degrading is a good thing
